I’ve been getting a lot of responses on the themes so I figured I’d put together a little “yay me!” page of the emails I’ve been getting. This page is purely for my own ego, so any negative emails will not be printed, nor will any acknowledgment of their existence be forthcoming. 🙂

Thank you so much for the great plainjain theme. As a graphic designer myself I truly appreciate the detail to the icons. I can tell that you use the theme yourself because the second a new app comes out you have an icon made for it! Thanks so much.

Your theme is really great!! Thx for sharing

The newest update to PlainJain is awesome. Keep up the amazing work.
The outlined icons really give it a finished look, and I can use
plainjain with any background now! Thanks again, especially for these
consistent updates that just keep delivering.

You’re so kuhl! I just love your work. I think you are just the
greatestest ever. You’re the bestest!!!!!! Can I send you some money
or maybe a pair of my underware?!!??!! – Yah,that one’s from my wife.

Hi Matt,
Thanks for making the best theme out there! You have been right on
pace with your updates as new programs have appeared and I have been
singing my praise of you. I’ve got the best looking ipod around thanks
to you and your hard work.

Hi thank you for this amazing theme. It will be awsome if you could
make a icon for the contacts app on the 1.1.1 firmware
Thank you again

Thanks man. Love your theme, fits into my desktop and my love for minimalism perfect. Hope to see it get better and better.

I LOVE Plainjain! Since I found it, I won’t change themes. thanks!

I must say you have a very nice theme. I constantly rotate themes and this one is heavy in the rotation, probably 2 to 1 over all other themes, Thanks for the time and effort, and the constant updating, great job.

Still rocking your theme man it’s the best

I’ve been following this theme for a while and I can now say it’s finally arrived.

Fantastic theme. I keep trying others and always end up coming back. If you could do icons for Othello.app and ScummVM.app, that would be absolutely money.

Just wanted to thank U for having the only true theme out there. Fantastic. U should update the blackjaindim as well, I love it, in all your free time right? You said there was a package along with this last update 2.5 (by the way there are 2 plainjaindim packages on the installer for some reason) to be used with the customize app. couldn’t find it in the customize theme section, where do I look? If U get a minute. Happy Holidays. U taking donations??

PlainJain Image Set (for use with customize) should be there, set to version 0.1.

BlackJainDim, PlainJainDim and PlainJain should all be at 2.5 now. No duplicates.

At least that’s how it looks on installer for me.

Hehe, cool. Glad it’s sorted. See, you need to pass the bong a bit more often. It’s just good etiquette.

Still not seeing the image set. Should be in the “Themes (customize)” folder right? sigh.

I’d like to say that the combo of these three packs is amazing! I’d also like to second the motion that an icon is made for ScummVM (preferably with something from Monkey Island I) 🙂

I use nothing but the PlainJain series icons on my phone now, and you’re really quick to scoop up the apps off the official sources, but ScummVM just sticks out! 🙂

I’d make my own icon for it, but I think it would insult your sets!

Just read your response to the anti jailbreakers. I must say it was quite eloquent and needed saying. I also have to say again how great your themes are. I just downloaded that lovely new blueprint theme and would enjoy having another theme to switch over to from time to time, but it can’t hold a candle to yours. You are an icon MACHINE!! I’m sure the day will come when You lose interest in keeping your icons up to date, but until that day comes, God bless you sir…. GOD BLESS YOU!!

i wanted to say i love your themes! so clean! however, i am having an issue with a thin grey line showing up on the bottom where the dock is when i have either of your themes installed. this goes away when i install other themes. its almost like its switched 180 deg and should be on top where the status is!?!?

please let me know how i can fix it — i can even send you some screen grabs to explain it a little better.

    thanks again!

I believe that’s just the way he chose to theme his dock. If you want it gone you can click on Summerboard and in the prefs that come up turn off “Theme Dock” Once Theme dock is off your default dock shows up. I’ve found that the Transparent dock in the Customize application looks great with his theme. You will have to download all the themes for Customize though, can’t remember which package had the transparent dock. Hope this helps.

Hands down my favorite theme. Amazing set of icons with their own shapes and styles. Clean looking and stylish, I always find myself going back to this theme despite all the ones I keep trying.

Keep up the good work, it is appreciated.

I was complaining that the symbols for “Calculator, Preferences, any many others have to be manually renamed to mak them work.

I was thinking about asking someone to write a script with an application that would rename newly downloaded Summerboard Themes, but this is all so complicated.

NOW i have the idea !

Just include all following symbols 2x !!!! same symbol, 2 names, then they are multilingual, at least with german !

I give you the list for propper naming :

    Calendar – Kalender
    Contacts – Kontakte
    Photos – Fotos
    Stocks – Aktien
    Maps – Karten
    Music – Musik
    Weather – Wetter
    Clock – Uhr
    Calculator – Rechner
    Notes – Notizen
    Settings – Einstellungen

for the Weather application, it seems kinda special, you have to change a file in the wheather.app 1 time, or it will never change its look on non-english iphones/touches.

    i quote:

“du mußt dir aus der weather.app die Info.plist saugen mittels winscp
in der Info.plist löscht du die zwei zeilen raus:

es dürfen dadurch keine leerzeilen verbleiben!

danach Info.plist wieder zurück aufs iphone…fertig.”

Means : you have to download the info.plist out of weather.app, and remove the two lines in code:

you have to edit it in a way that NO free space appears where you deleted the 2 lines, just back-delete until there is no plain line without text anymore.

copy it back to your iphone, and viola.

    From : “http://board.gulli.com/thread/947059-fragen-zu-themen-und-icons-bei-summerboard-springboard/5/#118”

I hope you will include the renamed same looking icons, the weather thing is something that isnt really your buisiness but you could help VERY MUCH with including Wetter, Rechner etc in the future !

    Give me feedback, cu

Could these be used for other things, like what license are they under. I have considered putting them in web site layouts as icons. I figure it would be ok if I attribute credit to here in the about page, but I always ask.

    G’day from downunder Aussie land!!
As we say here ‘what a little ripper’ you are 🙂 Fantastic work.
I know you are probably on to it but the icons I am missing for plain jane oblique are – phone recorder (dreamcatcher) phone video recorder (dreamcatcher) mxtube, weather, moleskine, snapture.
Thanks for all your efforts – much appreciated.

    Hi there…

Just wanted to big you RIGHT up mate, cos you are the *only* one I have come across who is passionately working your icons and keeping your theme(s) alive more than ANYONE else…

Define me as what you will, but as an end user of anyones product, your themes CONSISTENTLY end up getting the most comments on my phone.

Many thanks, keep it up, and if I can contribute to your continued good work, mail me separately….

    Pax, Kemal

I am still on 1.1.1 and had to restore, against my better judgement I updated to 2.0 and didn’t like it, now I’m back to 1.1.1 but I cannot find any source that still has the PlainJain Image Set for customize. Do you know anywhere I could download that? or any source that still has it?
