Automatic:
First, have AppTapp Installer installed on your iPhone, currently the best way to do this on an iPhone running firmware 1.1.1 is to visit jailbreakme.com using your iPhone’s Safari browser and following the pages instructions. After you’ve installed Installer, use installer to install Community Sources, then Summerboard, then any one of the PlainJain themes which include (for now) PlainJain, PlainJainDim and BlackJainDim.
Manual:
If you would like to keep up with the latest (beta) version of PlainJain, you can get an account at modmyifone.com, visit the Downloads/Summerboard Themes section of the site and look for any one of my themes. Typically I’ll have the latest version, whether it’s available in Installer or not, up on the site for others to download and modify, install, whatever. For these you’ll need a way to view and upload to the file structure on your iPhone. Unzip the files from modmyifone.com and upload them to the var/root/Library/Summerboard/Themes/ directory.
Hi there. Since modmyifone.com is down, i try to ask you here (maybe you already answered but i couldn’t read your reply yet. I use PlainJain, + Dim + Black, but i always have my STANDARD Icons for all the Original Apps (i have an ipod touch but also with iphone apps). I first thought its a problem if my ipod. Then someone told me maybe the theme creator didn’t create custom icons for the standard apps. But now that i saw icons for “picture”,youtube etc on several screenshots of plainjain, i wonder why it doesn’t work on my ipod touch. All non-standard app icons work perfectly.
Do you have any idea what might have gone wrong?
Howdy teelanovela,
See my post on foreign language issues with Summerboard. Have some advice and a plea to the Summerboard guys in there.
Cheers,
Matt
